Single-Cell Your Westerns: Meet MiloTM

Suruchi Arora, Ph.D.
Field Applications Scientist at Bio-Techne, Singapore

Are you interested in measuring heterogeneity in your cells? Do you want to validate single-cell RNA data with protein level information? Is it difficult to find the right flow antibody for your intracellular signaling studies? The wait is over. The new MiloTM Single-Cell Western system has arrived to answer all these questions. Milo makes it possible to run western blots on thousands of individual cells in parallel. Milo lets you identify cellular subpopulations that are not visible in traditional Western Blots, to reveal distinct cell types in your heterogeneous sample. He uses off-the-shelf, Western-validated antibodies and can even measure intracellular proteins, transcription factors, phosphorylated proteins, or targets that don't have flow antibodies. Now you can get western-based protein expression information on single cells and run 1,000 westerns in parallel. It can multiplex to measure multiple proteins (around 4) per single-cell. Milo offers time savings compared to conventional western blotting - the total workflow is 4-6 hours with 3-4 hours of that time hands-free. And finally, Milo uses conventional western antibodies so you don't need specialized reagents to measure your protein targets of interest. Being able to utilize the large commercial catalog of Western antibodies makes it possible to expand the amount of the proteome that can be measured at the single-cell level. Milo lets you study the target expression heterogeneity of tumors, identify differentiated stem cell subtypes and measure intracellular signaling pathway activation - including phosphorylated targets or transcription factors that can be challenging to measure with flow. You can also validate your single-cell RNA results with the protein expression information he gives you. If you need to find out how efficient your genetically engineered CRISPR, transduction, or transfection cell methods are, he'll let you do that too! So do not wait. Please join us for the seminar and meet Milo!
