Seoul is a city on the move, constantly revitalizing itself, balancing ultra-modern renewal with careful restoration of its ancient buildings and preservation of the environment.

The Sense of Sight: Seoul DesignsUNESCO appointed Seoul as a UNESCO City of Design on July 20, 2010. UNESCO, recognizing and appreciating Seoul¡¯s abundant cultural heritage and creative potential, designated Seoul as a creative city of design. The city of Seoul has plans to develop even further through various design policies, and it hopes to contribute to the advancement of developing countries through its activities as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Seoul is a city making public design news. Seoul was designated as the World Design Capital (WDC) 2010, a competition to promote and encourage the use of design to further the social, economic and cultural development of the world cities. To complement this effort, starting in 2008, the city created the Seoul Design Olympiad, a yearly festival to emphasize the importance of design.

BulgogiBulgogi: Sliced beef that has been marinated in sweet soy sauce and grilled. Due to its tender and juicy taste, Bulgogi is one of Korea¡¯s most popular dishes and has many fans.

When Seoul does business, the customer is king. Whether at a traditional market, department store, beauty salon or local convenience store, you will unfailingly encounter courteous staff.

One of the most fascinating attractions in Seoul is 24-hour shopping. Huge fashion clusters such as the Dongdaemun Market and Namdaemun Market, as well as shops along youth streets (ex. Hongik Univ. Street, Sinchon, etc.), cafes and bars are open 24 hours a day.

Seoul is served by two international airports. Incheon International Airport is the main airport located just 30 miles from Seoul while Gimpo International Airport is just 40 minutes away.
